Bangladesh win hat-trick title in AHF Cup

Bangladesh bagged consecutive third title of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup beating Sri Lanka by 3-0 goals in the final match on Sunday.

The match started at King’s Park Stadium in Hong Kong at 5:00pm on the day.

Hasan Jubair Niloy gave Bangladesh the breakthrough in the 22nd minute before young drag-and-flick hero Ashraful Islam doubled the lead in the 61st minute from a penalty corner.

Bangladesh confirmed the 3-0 victory when AHM Kamruzzaman gave another goal in the 67th minute from penalty corner.

Through this win, Bangladesh would get a chance for direct entry into next year’s Men’s Asia Cup, scheduled to be held from late September to early October.

Bangladesh are the reigning AHF Cup champions having won the last two editions in 2012 and 2008 in Thailand and Singapore respectively.
